Haunted Louisiana
There is something every traveler should know before trekking to Louisiana - and it's not the difference between Creole and Cajun. It is, however, the lay of the land -- in terms of hauntings anyway.
Myrtle's Plantation, a Bed & Breakfast in St. Francisville, Louisiana is considered to be one of the most haunted places in America. Built on the site of an old Tunicas Indian burial ground, this plantation is located about 30 miles from Baton Rouge and has been the site of numerous untimely deaths including a stabbing, a shooting, a death from yellow fever, and various other homicides. Most of the spirit activity reported seems to relate to people who lived and died here in the past, from a murdered slave woman and a mysterious ballerina to the sound of childrens' voices, a grand piano that plays by itself and a young Indian woman wandering the grounds.
