The town of Bannack is one of the most well-preserved ghost towns in Montana, and located in the middle of this abandoned place is the Hotel Meade. The hotel was open and busy in the years the gold mines were open, and closed the years when the mines weren't in operation. The Hotel Meade closed permanently in the 1940's when people left the town for good.
Reported manifestations include a young girl in her teens, Dorthy Dunn, who drowned in the dredge pond along Grasshopper Creek and is seen mostly by children, a mysterious older woman who haunts the second floor and has been seen peering out the windows, the sounds of crying children and unexplained cold spots in multiple locations.
